Sailing school is calling in early June!
HSK’s Children’s Sailing School is designed for children approximately 7–13 years old who are eagerly looking forward to joining the joyful world of sailing. No previous sailing experience or other experience on the water is required. A willingness to try new things is considered an advantage!
The Children’s Sailing School offers the most exciting experience of the summer, as first-time participants get to try not only dinghy sailing but also windsurfing and, conditions permitting, the club’s small keelboats. During an unforgettable camp week, participants learn the basics of sailing, responsible practices for moving on the water, and other skills that are extremely useful in sailing and boating. After completing the course, each participant can continue the hobby in the first-level group of the HSK Academy’s training pathway. You can learn more about the Fun Group activities here.

The teaching language of the course is Finnish but we provide coaching also in english when needed.
Clothing
HSK provides sailing jackets and trousers for participants to borrow if suitable gear is not available at home. The club-owned sailing clothing is available in sizes ranging from 128 cm to 164 cm.
It is recommended to pack at least the following for the camp:
- Weather-appropriate outdoor clothing (a windproof jacket and trousers)
- Shoes suitable for sailing that can get wet (sneakers or trainers that stay securely on your feet)
- A change of clothes
- A cap/beanie and gloves
- Sunglasses and sunscreen
- Swimsuit and towel
Note: Each participant will be provided with the club’s life jacket/dinghy sailing buoyancy aid. Participants may also bring their own life jackets. For safety reasons, the life jackets must not have collars.
Price
Sailing school prices are following:
5 days, 360 € until 15.4. and 390 € after
4 days, 300 € until 15.4. and 330 € after
Price includes:
- Coaching and instruction
- Use of sailboats and boards
- Sailing equipment (life jackets, sailing outfit: trousers and jacket)
- A tasty lunch prepared by Restaurant Blue Peter
- Sauna and changing room facilities in the club’s premises
- A camp T-shirt
- A training workbook
